Claire Troughton

Claire Troughton has been passionate about creating beautiful jewellery since joining her degree course back in 1992. She graduated from the prestigious of Edinburgh College of Art in 1995 with BA (hons) and established her business in 1996. Her work was immediately popular with people of all ages and she now sells to contemporary galleries and beautiful jewellery shops throughout the UK as well as online and at a few carefully selected craft shows.

In 2011 Claire’s talent was recognised in the Craft & Design ‘selected’ awards, where the public voted her one of only 6 finalists, from thousands of entries, in the Jewellery & precious Metal category. She recently added Bronagh Waugh (Hollyoaks actress) to her client list and provided gifts for celebrities appearring on ITV1 programme ‘That Sunday Night Show’, including Janet Street-Porter and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. 2004 saw Claire win the ‘Platinum Innovation Award’ for her beautiful necklace inspired by the seeds of the dandelion clock floating away in the wind. She has also been commended by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and her unusual gold cuff links attracted the attention of Cherie Blair, resulting in her attending a reception evening at 10 Downing Street.

Claire is a featured artist on the axis website, the Craftmaker ‘Selected’ online gallery, and Design Initiative.
