Madeleine Blaine

Madeleine Blaine has been making her own jewellery for the past 11 years in her workshop in Cambridge. Her interest in jewellery design started through travelling and seeing the vast variety around the world from ancient through to modern. She finished an apprenticeship in Mexico in 1998, and continued to travel for a couple of years - sourcing her gemstones and learning new techniques.

In 2000 she moved back to England and she set up her workshop in Cambridge where she has been making jewellery ever since. Now she sells the majority of her one-off pieces through craft fairs all over the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands.

Her love of travel continues to inspire her designs as she ventures on trips in the winter sourcing more unusual and sometimes rough cut gemstones. Buying from the mine directly enables her to ensure not only the ethical nature of their origin, but also to buy irregular, one-off cut stones which lend themselves to her organic and bold designs.
