At an early age I discovered an interest in Art and Design with help of Lecturers as there was no one in my family with artistic influences. Initially I wanted to be a Fine Artist, Graphic Designer, Ceramics Sculptor then discovered a link to precious metals which became a blank canvas for the combination of my artistic interest.
At the end of my second year of the BA Silversmithing and Jewellery Degree I realised I had the ability to take apart objects and reform the elements as a piece of jewellery and also I can create a form like a sculpture as a blank canvas for detailed art to go on, just as an artist paints on canvas or a graffitti artist sprays on walls.
My inspiration comes from the environment,music, street art, architectural building, modern forms, painting, vintage patterns, graphic designs, calligraphy, and elegant designs. As a silversmith colleague once said: 'If you are to design a piece of jewellery, design something with value' which means you should take great pleasure and time to produce fine jewellery with detail.
I have designed range of product for my brand Saint Michael Comtemporary and Urban Jewellery. My design ranges through logos, pendants, necklaces, bracelets, personalised name tag necklaces, bangles, cufflinks, money clips, belt buckles, and football badges, to name a few, and it's still genesis - Watch for my development!
